Craft Fair

The Craft Fair I participated in was super fun! Although I didn't sell anything - not many people came even though it was advertised quite well. It was great to talk to other women there selling their crafts.

My son had to be with me for part of the time - right during his nap time because his daddy had a meeting to go to for work, but James did super great. All the women complimented how well behaved he was for a 14 months. He didn't get into other people's stuff, but he did kiss the windows a lot. =D

So I forgot to take a picture while I was there. I was going to have my husband take a picture of me there, but then he was late so I just started taking everything down. But I set all back up at my home so you could see!

All items will be back on sale on my Already Made site if interested in anything. Don't forget about Valentine's Day coming up!

5 Question Friday

Saw this on Beautiful Mess, but you can go link up with Mama M at My Little Life or scroll down to the bottom of my post and see how to do Blog Hop.

My Little Life

1. Would you ever vacation alone? No way! Maybe if I was on some "Discover Myself" Journey - maybe. I like having alone time or go out for the day alone, but I couldn't do a whole vacation...I feel too weird.

2. Do you go the speed limit? exactly-no. I usually go about 5 over on normal weather days in residential areas unless it's a school zone. If I was on a Chicago expressway, at least 10 over is the rule there! Out here in Idaho, we tried to do that on the highway - nope hubby got pulled over. Oops. So it's 5 over while we're in Idaho. I guess I go under the speed limit when I don't know where I am too.

3. Why did you start blogging/following blogs? Started blogging to keep a better journal. I love details - but I don't have time to write all my details from my day in my journal, but blogging lets you include pictures! Pictures can show a lot of details so I can still look back at the picture and my words and remember the day.
I started following more people besides close friends when I started making Scrappy Gifts more of a business. I like knowing who my fans/followers are that way I can better serve their needs. Then I started to find more Mommy Blogs - I need all the help I can get and it's so wonderful to relate to other moms, knowing I'm not the only one going through hard days. Plus there's a wealth of information about crafts and being frugal that are so helpful during these hard economic times.

4. Where do you shop for yourself? Mostly Kohls and Old Navy - I like their Online Shopping and ways they do returns (we don't have good stores where I live so we have to travel 30+ minutes to get to good stores). Unfortunately Kohls no longer has the jeans I like: L.E.I. Walmart has them now, but most are too teenager. So I need to find a new brand of jeans - help please!
5. What was the song that you danced your first dance with your spouse to at your wedding...or...what song would you like your first dance to be to? Well at our wedding we danced to "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago...my husband doesn't really like many slow songs. I would have preferred "Hanging by a Moment" by Lifehouse - my all time favorite song. Our first dance ever that my husband and I danced to was when I was 15 - "God Must have Spent a Little More Time on You" by N'Sync. Yup I've known my husband for that long...I had to convince him to like him - it paid off eventually...5 years later. =D

Valentine's Scrappy Canvas

I made all of these last week in preparation for a craft fair.

monogram

Friend Making Monday

GO link up at aefilkins to join the fun. I thought this was such a fun idea! Leave me comment if you do this too so I can remember to look at yours. Thanks!

*I decided to go and take pictures for some of these things because I sometimes think posts without pictures are kinda boring.....so excuse the mess of my house in some of these =D

THE SIMPLE WOMAN'S DAYBOOK
Outside my window... Big fluffy snowflakes falling across the large open field behind my home

I am thinking.... about too many things, mostly everything that I need to get done- craft fair on Saturday, blogging, cleaning, etc.

I am thankful... my little boy is finally starting to sleep through the night!!!! He's 13 months old. Oh and I got my first 7+ hours of sleep since he's been born. I went straight to bed after he did and didn't bother cleaning the house before bed. I'm still happy this morning even though the house is a little messy - I guess it was a good trade-off. Sleep or clean house

I am praying... that my mom's heart is doing better and the she stays away from heavy stress....doesn't she look too young to be having heart problems. She is now able to work again and her next check-up is in April, but I still worry.

I am reading... continually reading the Book of Mormon, but I just finished Saving Madeline and am about to start Hunger Games because I've heard so many people talk about it.

I am creating... a baby scrapbook this week for a giveaway winner that has blues and browns

From the kitchen... baked some Schwans Monster Cookies: peanut butter cookies with oatmeal, chocolate chips and M&Ms....so yummy! (I know it's still morning-haha...I have a major sweet tooth)

Around the house... has been straightened up some and laundry has been started....no one puts the cereal back or throws away the milk carton...bah! =D

One of my favorite things... my scrapbook room - even though it's messy at times, it's my little getaway even though my son can easily come into it too

A few plans for the rest of the week... today- finish pinatas, Activity Days-making pies on Tuesday, visiting teaching on Thursday, craft fair on Saturday, church and Primary lesson on Sunday. Through the week-making the baby scrapbook

    Kinder Keepsakes by Aly

So I just found this new site that I wanted to share about.

I wish I found her earlier because she makes Baby Graduation Cap and Gowns. I totally wanted one for my son when my husband graduated. Here's what hers look like. She sells them in her etsy shop.

This is what we made do with for my son. I just used my old graduation cap and gown and tied it in the back with a ponytail. =D

Anyway Kinder Keepsakes also has these cute animal books that you can personalize with your child's name. How fun!

Here's a video she made with some of the other items she makes. What a clever idea to make a video.

Go check her out. If you become a follower of her blog, you'll forever have 10% off her site. =D

    Ladybugs and Lilypads Children's Boutique

I was browsing around and found this cute site, Ladybugs and Lilypads. It has lots of things that I would want for my nursery and future play room. All someday when we get a real house. We'll see if I get my dream house, but here's some of the items that I would want from her site for my nursery and play room.

NURSERY: so my nursery already has a star theme with the light blue and celery green colors and yellow stars.

What a cute photo holders frame: then you can change up pictures when you want.

I need this stool soon. I'm short and I currently have my crib at it's lowest setting so to get my son in, I have to stand on my tippy toes and try not to squash my stomach to get him in. When I have another baby, hopefully we'll get him into a toddler bed because I have no idea how I'll get him into the crib without a stool.

PLAY ROOM: For my play room if I ever get one, I want bright colors like the red, yellow, green and blue. I've already made these cute scrappy canvas and matching clock for it that incorporates these colors along with stars.

This table even has stars with it!!

Great to put the favorite books that are used the most in here.

This site doesn't just have furniture and decor, but it has everything....maternity clothes, clothes for mom, shoes, clothes for babies and kids (check out the birthday shirts or older sibling shirts), kids accessories: luggage, bows, jewelry, etc., baby gear, bedding, diaper bags and more. You can even set up a gift registry or get a gift certificate. I love one stop shopping!

Also for all you mom-preneurs; check this link out and sell some of your stuff through her site!

    Love Actually site

Love Actually is having a giveaway for the Pampered Chef Cooking for Two Cookbook. Check out her site on how to enter the giveaway, but also peruse because she has amazing ideas for romance. My favorite idea she has posted is an idea she found from My Insanity. I would love to do this little scavenger hunt thing. If only I could find some people to do it with me! I wouldn't mind if my husband had me to the hunt with other women.

She also sells all sorts of things to help with the romance like a Valentine's Advent Calendar or Love Checks.

    • gave 5 compliments to 5 different people
    • wrote on personal blog
    • 10 minutes reading the Book of Mormon
    • learned a new word from dictionary.com: flagitious-scandalous - interesting that my spell check says it's wrong.
    • drank 64oz. of water; it was easier to do, but boy every time I do it I feel like I'm pregnant all over again-having to go to the bathroom constantly
    • 3 servings of fruits & veggies: large salad, mandarin oranges, veggie pasta sauce
    • fun inside the house-piggy back rides with my son, tickling, etc.
    • house clean before bed
    • cleaned out James' kitchen cupboard
    • got dressed for the day and showered in the morning (usually I shower at night)
    • finish a craft: Made a Scrappy Canvas for my friend's son's baptism. He loves the color pink, but is starting to get made fun of for liking it. So I did my best to make a boyish piece with some pink.

    • stuck to my schedule to a T....this one is hard because if baby is off schedule; then I'm off. I wonder if I could count it for other days if we do everything in order, but not at the time it says?

I got all glammed up for the party so I took a picture. I set this on a time and James jumped into the picture too =D

    • tried a new recipe: Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry. Not bad, a little salty so I'll probably add more water next time. The recipe was a little confusing, but I figured it out. You cook the meat first, then take it out, cook the veggies and then mix and cook it all together.

    • 3 servings of fruit and veggies: clementines, broccoli, lettuce and tomato on my sandwich
    • fun inside the house
    • fun outside the house - Primary Singing Time

Since I'm still not getting enough sleep, no way am I waking up early to go work-out.

Delicate Expressions is giving away $25 to their site over on Today's Giveaway. Giveaway ends on the 24th!They are pretty reasonably priced too!

I ordered a Small Magnetic Message Board for my friend's birthday coming up. She's even going to make it all for me, completely assembled and ship it to my friend for a few dollars more. Perfect! That way I didn't have to pay for 2 shippings- 1 to get to me and then make it and then ship it out to my friend all in time for her birthday.
