Valentine Ready

MONDAY
We played with some new things from Rainbow Resource Center

My oldest really loved the geoboards.

I grabbed a lot of Geography things for the site.

We played at a local park after our walk.

The kids are into an Uno game run. They've been playing so often.

Ouch! Lots of points!

Do you read the rules to old games? It was interesting to look at the rules for Uno compared to when I played as a kid. It's funny to hear what house rules friends have had with old games. =D

The kids worked on Beast Academy workbooks.

I got out the beans for my son to play and dig in.

The kids also worked on their Big Life Journals.

TUESDAY

In the evening, my daughter participated in my Parenting Good Choices class. They have a section for the kids to role play. It was pretty awesome. Then my kids got $5 Walmart gift cards for role playing.

My daughter has been working hard on this coloring page.

Science Club through My Tech High.

They played around with static electricity.

It was National Pizza Day so I grabbed our favorite Dominos toppings.

WEDNESDAY

The kids learned some magic tricks with the Homeschool Support Group. My daughter was able to try it for the group and she was surprised she was able to do it.

She finished her coloring page.

My oldest creating on the geoboard again.

THURSDAY
My daughter started a new coloring page during her art club with My Tech High.

We tried a funny, old ---- new to us game called Funglish that we grabbed from the library.
It was quite difficult. I guess we need to work on our vocabulary more.

Can you guess the words we were trying to describe?

Granted it was for 12+ so my oldest did the best with it, but I struggled too with some.

Coloring pages in her affirmations book.

My daughter working on her latest Doodle Crate with embossing.

Another geoboard creation. It's so interesting to see their favorites things to use and create with.

FRIDAY
If the kids were in public school, they would have had their Valentine's party so we decided to put their Valentines together and deliver it to some of their friends.

We then worked on a density experiment from a science kit from the library. The kids loved this experiment.

J:
This week we tried a new game called, Funglish. We try to describe a word using specific adjective cards. One person puts up this sign that has adjectives on them with 3 sections: definitely, kind of, and not. It was really hard to get the word maybe because it was a 12 and up game. My mom won with 4 correct. My sister had 2 and I had 3 right.

K:
I made cookies (on Friday night). I had to measure everything correctly it would mess up the cookies like I sorta did last time, but at least they still tasted good. My mom helped me and so did my little brother (he poured in stuff).

Start of February

MONDAY

We are still reading our Tennis Shoes among the Nephites book. They learned a bit of geography in the pages talking about Amerigo Vespuci which was pretty neat.

My oldest then watched a science video and wrote a summary about it while my daughter started on her Exact Path work.

So much complaining, fighting, yelling today. Hopefully the rest of the week is better. I blame it on them not going to bed on time last night.

My daughter is reading the book called Bingo Summer and to summarize, she drew pictures about events from the book.

TUESDAY

Morning Routine

One of my daughter's favorites to create and play with is slime. We have several different slime kits, but today they tried a Play Doh one
They created some thing from the modeling clay she got for Christmas.

WEDNESDAY

The kids worked on their Hearts to put on everyone's doors.

One of our favorite games to play is Cover your Kingdoms.

My oldest worked on his Own It course. More Clay & Slime fun for the youngest.

Then they had PE Class with the Homeschool Support Group.

I went on a walk with the youngest later.

Check out some of our answers.

Dental Appointments

With so many different and long appointments this week, my kids just worked on their list of the week. I don't have a lot of pictures though with how draining the week was.

MONDAY
We talked about temple work as we read the scriptures

Then the kids worked on their Night Zookeeper. My daughter did several pages from her Division workbook while her brother worked on Exact Path.

They played outside a lot today of their own choice.

TUESDAY
We are still reading our Tennis Shoes among the Nephites book.

I started a parenting class offered through their school district called, Guiding Good Choices.

The kids played in the snow again I was surprised they went out on their own accord.

WEDNESDAY

We took the youngest to the dentist. When we came back. We discovered we had no internet due to some construction breaking a fiber line. Our area was down for 7-8 hours.

So we had the kids try to learn a new card game we are creating ourselves. My husband and I have most of the rules in place along with names, but need to work on refining it before we get into the visuals. We used some basic cards to represent for now.

The 2 youngest did lots of painting.

The 2 oldest played BankIt from SimplyFun which is a fabulous game to learn budgeting and basic financial skills. It's been a family favorite for years.

We also played Werewords as a family. My daughter had a challenging word for her as a mayor - granite. She didn't quite know the word well enough to answer our questions.

Then we got our Raspberry Pi out to play some old school video games. My youngest who is 3 did quite well playing Sonic the Hedgehog. I played my older kids in Tetris, my absolute favorite, best played on the Playstation.

THURSDAY

Today was dental day for my daughter. She had the orthodontist and then the dentist. She got 2 of the braces off her back teeth because now they need to push the front teeth back together now that the teeth have had room to grow.

FRIDAY
We had our Morning Routine and the kids finished up their
Exact Path assignments.

They had fun of an old website they used to use at their old school, called Little Alchemy. My oldest created Yoda.
They also played with one called Weave Silk?

My son's words about the week:
My parents are in the middle of making their own card game. Since our internet went out one day, we tried to play and test out their game with just normal playing cards to figure out more of the rules. There were a lot of cards. There's a point system and to win you have to the most points. I cannot go into further detail because my parents are still working on the game design, but I think it was really fun. I think my mom cheated though.

My daughter's:

I painted a sunset. It had blue and variations of yellow. It looked really pretty and painting helps me feel happy inside and creative.
