Gardens and Butterflies

Monday

Decided to take the kids on a field trip because the weather was nice and because sometimes Mondays need extra work to be great!

We headed to Ashton Gardens and walked. The kids loved feeding the fish in the Koi Pond. It was pretty cool!

Then we had lunch which the kids were surprised with.

Then we headed to the Butterfly Biosphere. They had a pumpkin scavenger hunt to look for their new creepy crawlies. The kids made paper butterflies and then played in the play area. My youngest came with me to see all the butterflies. The older kids didn't want to because it's so hot with masks.

They had butterfly kits for sale from a local farm so we grabbed one to try. We're guaranteed 4 to live. I'm just a bit nervous that it will be too cold when they change.

Tuesday
We decorated some of the outside of our house for Halloween. Here's a peek! Our Relief Society is giving us some craft items to decorate our doors and my kids chose the spider theme so we decided to do more spider decor like spider lights, spider webs and more.

The kids worked on their Outschool classes.
My son is doing his Video Game Design class

 Wednesday

We are grateful for the Homeschool Support Group in Utah. They have zoom classes every week. Today's class was PE. Then they did a fun scavenger hunt that was team building.

Thursday

We cooked today since we hadn't in a while. We made more banana chocolate chip muffins since ran out last time.

We attempted to make spider webs from paper, but kept messing up. We just followed a video on Facebook with no words haha. I found this video so maybe it will work better next time

Then the kids got creative cutting out different designs with construction paper and my son accidentally made a mask.

Friday

We headed to the library on our bikes again and grabbed our holds and searched for a few new books.
Here are a few audio books and a book recommended by our library that's great for families: Alcatraz versus the Evil Librarians.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, my husband joked why don't you just watch the movie. I really love how J.K. Rowling weaved the Harry Potter books together making an amazing story that everyone should read.
I loved the Tennis Shoes series, a Latter-Day Saint Fiction book about the Book of Mormon. We're working on the first book and will listen to the 2nd on CD.

Who else loves reading American Girl Collection books?

We ended with more Pixel Math.
