35th Mommy Mondays

All Winners of the Baby Shower Event have been contacted. Please check your spam or e-mail me at ScrappyDiva2129 at yahoo dot com with your address if you haven't been contacted. From reading the post below, you can see why there's been a delay in contacting you and there might be a delay getting your packages sent out as this baby might be coming early....

I was looking through my son's Baby Book and saw I had this picture of my tummy in there so I took one last night of me with this baby girl. LOW LOW LOW! As you can see my belly button is about 1-2 inches lower than it was with with my son's at this point. I'm pretty sure it's because I've dropped, but I've always felt lower with with this pregnancy. She has literally been in my lap since last week - very uncomfortable.

So anyone else think I'm going to make 30 more days!? Guesses on the date of when she'll come and how guesses on her height and weight are being accepted. I'd love to hear your guess!
My son was born 12 days early weighing at 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 21 inches long. Last week at my appointment, they were guessing this baby girl  is already about 6 lbs. 3 oz. (I hope not! since I have several more weeks! plus with my gestational diabetes they're not supposed to let her get too big for me.)

I had so much pain and contractions last night (I was yelping in pain) that I thought we might have to go to the hospital. She was moving a ton and some of her movements have really been hurting and then harder contractions on top of that. Luckily I was able to get them to stop because the doctors want me to try and wait until 37 weeks (April 6th). I don't know if I'll make it, especially if I keep getting this pain every day. This morning, I had some painful movements from her too making me yell out again. OUCH! We'll see - I might have to be on bed rest a lot today.

Here's the information I've found for gestational diabetes that I've been promising to share. It was definitely a struggle the first month or so, but I feel like I have a good handle on it right now even though I've been craving Olive Garden, a big cinnamon roll or muffins. I strongly believe I won't be given trials that are too difficult for me to handle. I've been able to endure, but there have definitely been tears in the process. For some people this isn't a big deal, but it has been for me. I hate complaining though.

Gestational Diabetes....
http://www.diabetes.org/diabetes-basics/gestational/what-is-gestational-diabetes.html
Pregnant women who have never had diabetes before but who have high blood sugar (glucose) levels during pregnancy are said to have gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes affects about 4% of all pregnant women - about 135,000 cases of gestational diabetes in the United States each year.
We don't know what causes gestational diabetes, but we have some clues. The placenta supports the baby as it grows. Hormones from the placenta help the baby develop. But these hormones also block the action of the mother's insulin in her body. This problem is called insulin resistance. Insulin resistance makes it hard for the mother's body to use insulin. She may need up to three times as much insulin.
Gestational diabetes starts when your body is not able to make and use all the insulin it needs for pregnancy. Without enough insulin, glucose cannot leave the blood and be changed to energy. Glucose builds up in the blood to high levels. This is called hyperglycemia. You may also be interested in our book, Diabetes & Pregnancy: What To Expect, 4th Edition.

How gestational diabetes can affect your baby

Gestational diabetes affects the mother in late pregnancy, after the baby's body has been formed, but while the baby is busy growing. Because of this, gestational diabetes does not cause the kinds of birth defects sometimes seen in babies whose mothers had diabetes before pregnancy.
However, untreated or poorly controlled gestational diabetes can hurt your baby. When you have gestational diabetes, your pancreas works overtime to produce insulin, but the insulin does not lower your blood glucose levels. Although insulin does not cross the placenta, glucose and other nutrients do. So extra blood glucose goes through the placenta, giving the baby high blood glucose levels. This causes the baby's pancreas to make extra insulin to get rid of the blood glucose. Since the baby is getting more energy than it needs to grow and develop, the extra energy is stored as fat.
This can lead to macrosomia, or a "fat" baby. Babies with macrosomia face health problems of their own, including damage to their shoulders during birth. Because of the extra insulin made by the baby's pancreas, newborns may have very low blood glucose levels at birth and are also at higher risk for breathing problems. Babies with excess insulin become children who are at risk for obesity and adults who are at risk for type 2 diabetes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gestational_diabetes
Gestational diabetes (or gestational diabetes mellitus, GDM) is a condition in which women without previously diagnosed diabetes exhibit high blood glucose levels during pregnancy (especially during third trimester of pregnancy).
Gestational diabetes generally has few symptoms and it is most commonly diagnosed by screeningglucose in blood samples. Gestational diabetes affects 3-10% of pregnancies, depending on the population studied.[2] during pregnancy. Diagnostic tests detect inappropriately high levels of
Babies born to mothers with gestational diabetes are typically at increased risk of problems such as being large for gestational age (which may lead to delivery complications), low blood sugar, and jaundice. Gestational diabetes is a treatable condition and women who have adequate control of glucose levels can effectively decrease these risks.

Potty Dance Kit Giveaway

Today is the last day of the BABY SHOWER EVENT. Hope you've had fun entering giveaways and learning about new products from awesome businesses. Remember all Giveaways end Sunday, March 20th! Here's a list of them all - make sure you haven't missed one!

Now a giveaway from ME! (House Party did not ask me to do this)

Have you ever heard of House Party? They offer lots of opportunities to try new products and host a party with friends to share about new products. I've hosted a party for Your Shape Wii game, Orowheat Sandwich Thins and Shutterfly Photo books. Hosts get free stuff and your guests get some free stuff too and great deals.

A couple weeks ago, I hosted a Pull-Ups Potty Dance House Party. It was so fun for the kids who are thinking about potty training or currently potty training. We learned the Potty Dance, and some of the 2 year olds really did well with it! The kids colored Potty Dance pictures while the moms made some sticker/reward charts.
Then we had some yummy snacks. Perfect party for toddlers.

Well I have 7 Potty Dance Kits to give away! It includes the Potty Dance video and extras, Potty Dance mat, coloring sheet, coupons for Pull-ups and other products, stickers and a rewards code.

MANDATORY ENTRY: Follow Crafty Mommy Diva on Google Friend Connect publicy. (right sidebar) AND leave a comment on one of my Reviews: CSN Stores HamperForever and a Day, The Mommy Exchange, Sound Beginnings, OR Recent Baby Purchases.

Baby Shower Event - CSN Stores Review

So if you've read my blog before, you've heard of CSN Stores and how awesome they are already! Check out some of my past reviews of some of their products: Changing Table and Little Tikes Picnic Table.

This time I decided to review the JoJo Designs Pink and Green Mod Circles Laundry Hamper to match my other stuff for this baby girl coming!

Here's some of her stuff. I think it coordinates pretty well together. Still some better organizing that could be done though huh.

  • perfect colors
  • large - larger than the one I have for my son that's from JCPenneys.
  • Easy to put together - just putting velcro together!
  • Wish the wood frame was more durable or heavier.

CSN Stores offers free shipping to the U.S. on many products. They have over 200+ specific little stores to meet your needs.  Check them out now and do some one stop shopping! I've bought other things from them like a step stool, tie rack, and more.

Baby Shower Event - Reviews on my Recent Baby Purchases

    VISION TO REMEMBER
She mad this cute little cuddle blanket with my chosen colors. I had won a gift certificate to her site. I really wanted a car seat canopy in this too! She even sent me a picture to make sure I liked the colors before she put it all together.
Check her Etsy Shop (rag quilts, patterns, kits, and much more)
    Visit her blog
    Fan me on Facebook
    Follow her on Twitter:

    CRESCENT CREATIONS
I won a gift certificate to her Facebook site too. She made this amazing hat for me with a detachable flower. Can't wait to put my little girl in it!

    MOTHERHOOD MATERNITY
They had a great sale on nursing bras last month. Buy 3, get one free.  They fit great and the best thing I love about them are that they are slightly padded but with no under-wire! I was so not prepared for nursing with my son and just had to go to Wal-mart for nursing bras. All they had were unpadded bras or padded bras but with under-wire. I don't mind under-wire, but with nursing it gets tricky. Most of the time I just used a sports bra because it was easier, but probably not the best thing to accentuate the right curves or to feel like a woman.

While waiting in line forever - I also found awesome maternity tights! If you dress up often or go to church weekly, you so need a pair of these! Heavenly! They fit comfortably around the belly and hid my love handles =D Plus they were warm and you couldn't see my unshaven legs.

    3B Creations
I bought this hooded towel through her Facebook site. I love hooded towels and she was pretty affordable compared to others and offered a great hooded large towel that my baby girl can grow into as well.

    My Baby Cow
I won a gift certificate to her Facebook page. I used it on a baby cocoon. The picture below shows the correct color of it. Sorry that the next picture's coloring is off.
Cocoon and flower clip attached to it are fabulous - so soft and perfect color. Brandyce was determined to find me the exact color that I wanted although I was okay with settling with something else. She has great customer service and is very committed at making her customers happy!

    The Crafty Moms
Have you heard about The Crafty Moms. On her Facebook Page, she is always doing Bids on her items. I was able to score a great deal on legwarmers, tutus, and more for bidding on her items.

Baby Shower Event - Sonia y Monica Review and Giveaway

Sonia from Sonia y Monica graciously sent these gorgeous bags and nursing covers to review and giveaway. It was so hard for me to decide, but I decided to keep the blue one.

I love the print! The bag is so large and thick, very durable!
It has pockets on the skinny sides inside and out.
The flower on it is detachable so you could wear it on your shirt or a headband. Fun!

The nursing cover is also beautiful. The boning is thinner, making it easy to reverse the sides.
The adjustable strap is the best I've seen on a nursing cover and I have a lot of nursing covers. It's really easy to use and stays put.

Sonia Y Monica is giving away this Nursing Cover and Bag!

MANDATORY ENTRY: Follow her blog at least one of 3 ways: GFC, Networked Blogs or Email Subscription (PLEASE LEAVE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS SO I CAN CONTACT YOU IF YOU WIN)

Baby Shower Event - Susie Cues Review and Giveaway

SusieCues sent me this fabulous minky changing pad cover! It is so soft. It fit perfectly around my changing pad and my straps still can go around it.

My son even likes to climb up on it - he thinks it's a bed now since it's so soft!

The green color was perfect too! It matches my boy nursery stuff and then the girl stuff I'm slowly getting too!
My favorite feature is that I can take it off and wash it! Our changing pad underneath was getting a little torn up from cleaning it. I think I'll need to buy me another one of these too so I can have a back-up!

Susie Cues is giving away your choice of changing pad cover in these colors: hot pink, light pink, chocolate brown, turquoise, green, blue, white, pink with brown dots flannel OR aqua with brown dots flannel.  (She is currently on bed rest with her pregnancy and will probably be having her baby early so this is extremely generous of her to do!)

MANDATORY ENTRY: Her shop is currently closed, but look through her sold items her and let me know what items are your favorite. She does amazing work: custom bedding, changing pad covers and more!

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS SO I CAN CONTACT YOU IF YOU WIN.

Baby Shower Event - By Laura Design Review and Giveaway

By Laura Design has amazing crocheted items. Check out her newest item the ByLaura Band. So pretty and cute!

Her most popular item is the Bearded Beanie.

She even has a fun one for women!

I then wondered if she had child sizes because I thought that would be so cool and she does!

She let me review a Child's Bearded Beanie (fits ages 1-5). It looks so cool on my son! It's warm and really thick since it's made with two strands of yarn - perfect for windy, cold Idaho weather. When we go outside and it's windy, my son is always holding on to his hood and burying his face to protect himself from the cold, so this is the perfect solution to protect his face.

Not as cold or windy outside, this beard can be taken off since it's held by buttons (this option can be requested) and it can just be worn as a beanie. Also the buttons can be placed higher or lower or have 2 button holes so that the beard fits snugly on for extra warm protection. By Laura Designs is great to work with and can customize your order to fit your needs.

Adult ones are especially great for the snow sport enthusiasts - skiers, snowboarders, or even a day of sledding with your kids =D

Doesn't he look like a pirate with his eye covered?

My son thought it would be cool to look like Abe Lincoln too.
My husband and I think he looks so cool in his bearded beanie! My husband wish he could have fit into it.

ByLaura Design is giving away your choice of one child's Bearded Beanie!

MANDATORY ENTRY: Go to her Etsy Shop and let me know what's your favorite item in her shop.
