92nd Fashionable Fridays

I wore this outift to church not too long ago. I needed my outfit to be more exciting, so I paired 2 Paparazzi flowers onto my shirt. I did it towards the bottom because I was wearing my hair down and didn't want it covered up. The other leaders in YW liked it =) Such a simple thing to make a statement.

Wellness Wednesday #6

Two weeks ago, I got to meet a great guy, Danny, explain more about the  dōTERRA essential oils. He and his wife have been with them basically since  dōTERRA started 4-5 years ago. Just by talking with him and hearing his story about how his son received respiratory support through the oil, Breathe, I felt even better about using the oils more and more within my home and with my children.

Interested in learning more about them or trying a free sample: https://goo.gl/forms/lPJOOGv3D7Mnnvf13, let me know. Or check my website: https://www.mydoterra.com/essentialwellnessdiva/#/

Last week, I had some major cramps (I rarely get bad cramps), so I looked up what oil to use and Lavender was an option. I put some on my stomach and instantly, my cramps were soothed. I could still feel them, but they weren't uncomfortable. Almost like when I had my baby, I could feel the pressure, but not the pain of it. It was so awesome! Lavender is a great oil that has so many uses! Remember it's also great for skin irritations when you've been in the sun too long as stated in a previous post =)

Mother's Day Handprint/Footprint Flowers

The Friday before Mother's Day in Preschool I had the kids make cards for their moms. Here’s my son making mine. I used my Silhouette to cut out the flowers and pot. Then the kids glued them on and added on finger print leaves. Mother's Day

I know  I mentioned this briefly before, but wanted to share a little more =)

Then very carefully, I had the kids do painted hand prints and foot prints outside. Idea found on Pinterest. Once we were all done, I lifted each kid to the bath tub to wash their feet and hands off. I think it was well worth it. Hope the moms like it. I love the double one of my kid’s prints - going to frame that one!Mother's Day1

68th Mommy Mondays

Last Tuesday, my daughter turned 14 months! It sure keeps going by fast. She is still nursing and now using her pacifier religiously! Yikes! She was doing well until 6 more teeth came in and now she wants her pacifier all the time and has been nursing a lot again. Hopefully those molars will pop through all the way soon so I can attempt the process of weaning her once again.

I think she loved the pudding =)

Interesting things about her is that she loves babies and purses and now she's been really into shoes! It amazes me how girly she is at such a young age! She actually likes walking in shoes - everyone's shoes and begs us to put them back on her every time they fall off. Although, she's such a girly girl, she also knows how to do the vroom vroom noise with cars - it was too cute to see her playing with tractors and cars with her brother making the noises like he does =D I love being a mom!

I found these red shoes at the DI and wanted to wear them. Then this necklace, I bought for like $4 at an auction at Sweet and Chunky Jewels. She threw in the ring for free =) I wore black instead of the top I wore with my pattern mixing outfit to make the necklace stand out more.

Wellness Wednesday #5

Tried this new recipe I made up a couple weeks ago, and it's so yummy! Honestly I'm not sure how healthy it is, but with salmon in it, I thought it would be good to get in my Omega 3s. =)

Here's the recipe for my Salmon Tomato Dip
  • 6 oz. of canned salmon, drained
  • 4 oz. of cream cheese (half a block)
  • 1/2 C of shredded cheese (I just used the mild cheddar)
  • 2-3 roma tomatoes diced
  • favorite seasoning - my favorite is the Omaha Steak Seasoning
Mix all together and eat with crackers. I ate mine with Wheat Thins. I ate about half of it for lunch. This would also be great on a whole wheat bread with some lettuce!

Butterfly Pink and Lime Birthday - Favor Boxes

I made these favor boxes using my Silhouette Cameo for my daughter's birthday. I filled mine with fruit snacks, suckers, and little toy favors: spin tops and butterfly rings.

They have all sorts of these favor boxes to download and cut out with your Silhouette - graduation, dad, mom, birthday: dinosaur, butterfly, thank you and more!
Check them out! Super simple and super cute favor boxes for a birthday or just a thank you! They'd even be great for a wedding!

Wellness Wednesday #4

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Quaker Oats for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Quaker has new Quaker Soft Baked Bars to provide fuel and flavor to start off your day!  This breakfast snack is a wholesome food. Sounds perfect for a busy mom especially in the mornings! In my family we sleep until the last possible moments so breakfast is usually the last thing on my mind for myself. It would be great to try these out and give one to my son before preschool starts and have one for myself as we head out the door in th mornings =) I know my son isn't cranky during preschool when he can have a good breakfast, but with our schedules we need something quick. Sometimes too, he'll eat so slow with oatmeal or cereal because he's distracted. Also with cereal and oatmeal, it takes more to fill him up. These quick breakfast bars seem to pack more to fill kids up quicker. If we're really late, these would be perfect for my son to eat in the car too or even walking down the stairs to his preschool room =)
The banana nut bread sounds especially yummy to me! I love making banana nut bread (sometimes with chocolate chips =D) so this sounds wonderful .

The Cinnamon Pecan bread sounds and looks delicious too. I love cinnamon and I love pecan pie so it would probably be really tasty together!

Butterfly Pink and Lime Birthday - Large Scrapbook Frame

I made/decorated this frame. I saw the idea at my local craft store, Porter's and decided I wanted to have one for each of my kids. I made my daughter's one first so I could display it at her birthday party.

Mostly I used stickers on hers and then scraps of paper when I needed some bigger pieces to have less white space.

This would be easy to do with any matted frame. Great way to add interest and color especially for a kid's room.

67th Mommy Mondays

How many teeth did your kid get in one month?

My daughter is working on her 6th tooth (4 molars, bottom 2 teeth next to the bottom middle) that I can see in the past month!! for a total of 12 teeth. Ouch! Explains the trouble sleeping and screaming/crying she's been doing. It's hard to get in her mouth, without getting bit, to check.

Here's the face she has been pulling lately (a mild version of it) that makes us laugh. She does this when she's mad at us or when she doesn't like what we tell  her. She usually scrunches up her nose more and her eyebrows are closer together when she's really mad.

Do your kids pull some pretty funny faces?

90th Fashionable Fridays

Sorryfor such a blurry picture. This is what happens when I attempt a picture outside without my husband taking it for me. I didn't focus it correctly when I set the self-time on the car.

Dress from Down East (got it for $10!!)
Scarf from Kohls
my new Wedges from Zulilly. I've been looking for new wedges forever! I think I paid close to $30 for these, but they're way comfortable and were originally around $80 bucks.
Flower beaded bracelet from Payless (about $6)

Butterfly Pink and Lime Birthday - Flower Ribbon Topiary

I made my first Ribbon Topiary - again for my daughter's first birthday. I was kinda nervous about it thinking it wouldn't be fun to make, but it ended up being very fun to make. I wish I had more time to make more of them.

Tutorial and example from here and pinned here.

Here's mine:

I didn't use a square block to hold the dowel on the bottom like the original did. I just stuck it in my container (from the $1 store) and surrounded it with candy and some glass flowers. It stayed pretty well in place. If you think children will play with it, then you might want to have the foam block for stronger support.

After I was finished, I also added some clear flower stickers on top of some pieces of my ribbon so it kinda looked like a flower tree. =) I wanted to add some butterfly stickers, but I couldn't find any the right size that I liked for it.

For me, I just looked through all my ribbon, found the colors I needed, cut them up into equal pieces and stuck them on. Some people have said to not use a lot of different kinds of ribbon, but I did and loved mine. Some pieces I didn't even loop, I just left straight for a different look.

66th Mommy Mondays

On Saturday, I walked in the March of Dimes walk in Idaho Falls to show my support for several of my friends who have had babies born too early - for Braden (29 weeks), Caden (32 weeks, 5 days), and Jeremy (33 weeks) and many more. These babies are all doing great today. Braden is almost 4. Caden is 18 months and Jeremy is 14 months.

I designed and made these shirts for the group, I walked with, Braden's family and some friends to show my support - all of the fronts say something different. Hopefully in a couple weeks, I'll have some groups shots showing the shirts. =) I designed these shirts like this keeping Braden in mind - he loves Cars.

I got to hear another family's story before the walk started, I just tear up hearing these stories - these miracles of babies who fight so hard and parents fighting with them. It just amazes me to feel God's love.

We did a 3 mile walk around the Green Belt by the Idaho Falls temple. It was gorgeous. It rained right at the beginning of the event, but once we started walking, it cleared up and the sun came out. I pushed about 60-65+ lbs. of kids in my double stroller.

By the end of the walk, my left leg was hurting and boy was I hot. I even dumped water on my head - hey my hair is super dark! It felt lots better. They had fun activities afterward for the kids. My son even got his face painted for the first time and even I had my daughter do it too. It felt great participating.

Later that night, I reread some of my pregnancy moments with my daughter and how painful it was those last weeks before she was born. I am so glad that I'm not pregnant right now. Even though it was so painful and I had such a hard time with her pregnancy, I am grateful that my body was able to endure it and keep her inside for as long as she needed to grow and same with my son. I am grateful to have had full-term babies (born 12 days and 8 days early) over weeks and weeks early.

Have you had a preemie baby? Do you have friends who have had preemies?

89th Fashionable Fridays - Paint that Nail

Happy Friday!! It's Fashionable Friday! I can't believe its June 1st! May flew by! Let's begin with the nail art!

First paint your nails any color you would like, I chose Essence colour&go- A Lovely Secret.

Then put one black dot anywhere on your nail but not too close to the edges. I used a dotting tool but you can use whatever you have like the end of a paint brush or tooth pick, even the brush on the nail polish could work.

Then create five petals going around the middle. To make the petal you make two lines that curve to a point at the end. I used a black Stripe Rite but a detail brush or an eye liner brush with black paint would also work.

Continue doing that in between the petals. These isn't a real pattern to this just have fun with it!

Once your whole nail has the petals all you need to do is put a top coat and you're done!

I hope you like these, and if you try it out I'd love to see how they turn out! Have a great Friday! (:

Thanks Kristyn! So chic! Check out more of her nails on Paint that Nail!
